TEACHER & PARENT Q&A
How can I help my children benefit from Laylat al-Qadr?
Involve them with short ibadah: recite one short surah together, make dua for their friends, and give them a special “good deed checklist”. Keep it joyful, not overwhelming.
Is it better to pray alone or at the mosque on this night?
Both are great. For many, praying at home with family increases concentration and teaches children. The mosque gives community spirit. Do what strengthens your khushu’ (focus).
What if I am weak in Arabic? Can I make dua in my language?
Absolutely. Allah understands all languages. The essence is humility and presence of heart. You can praise Allah in your own tongue and ask for His mercy.
PARENT-TEACHER TIP: Prepare small rewards for children after each prayer. Tell them the story of Jibreel (AS) and the descending angels – it builds awe and love for this night.
The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.
